Pretty Embarrassing

It looks like…….7 months have passed since the last update. That’s unfortunate. Now I didn’t create this as a way to give day to day updates about this business. It is more of a way to capture the process of building everything up and situations I might run into out in the field. For anyone who runs across this I think it also serves as a more relatable portal into the person who you may Read more…

YouTube is Wild

This is my first business and I’m just trying to learn everything as I go. It can be a slow process. When you have to put you’re full-time job and family first before you’re side business you kinda just have to learn things however you can. Everything here is a learning process for me, and its going to be for quite awhile. Honestly the good ones are never going to stop learning. There are a Read more…

A Juggling Act

Once this year started obviously one of the biggest goals was to officially get this business off the ground. Constant site updates, daily social media posts, a new channel for videos explaining things about the job and working from the ground up, new equipment, etc, etc. Honestly its hard to keep up. With a full-time job, family, and a list of other things I have to put first I can’t always stay updated as much Read more…

OXIDATION, NO BREATHING

Papa Roach. Remember that band? Probably not, but if you ever watched Mtv in the early 2000’s you 100% saw that video and know that line (well with the word “Suffocation” instead). Anyways, as most will do when starting a new job they are going to run into situations they might not know about. This happened to me on a job. Well kinda. I was doing a house wash for one of my friends; a Read more…

Happy New Year

So 2024 was a good. Visiting a new country, new family experiences, finalizing a basement re-model that has taken a few years (that one may not seem that big but a lot of work has gone into it and its finally good to put that one behind), and obviously starting this business. For starting just a few months ago things have been pretty decent. There hasn’t been an absolute explosion of jobs but I can Read more…

Even Without a Rig

A decent rig. Its what you want in this profession and honestly its usually what a customer expects to see if you roll up to their house. Unfortunately that’s just not the case for many start-ups. You work with what you have and you get the same results. Its going to mean working harder but so be it. If at the end of the day you’ve cleaned everything and the customer is happy then its Read more…

The New Way

I had a job the other day cleaning a few things I hadn’t been hired to do before (soffits, undersides, etc). Nothing real unique but it was something new. Now at the moment I don’t have a full soft washing system so I had to hit the vinyl with a hand pump to get the chemicals on there. It wasn’t the most professional looking setup but the end result was great and the customer was Read more…

Marketing Tactics

I guess this has always been true to some extent, but with all the options out there now, marketing seems as important as ever. Google ads, Facebook groups, Yelp testimonials, Youtube videos and shorts, Instagram and even Tik Tok are ways people are marketing their brand and its a huge disservice if you’re not taking advantage of at least a few of them. You got to play to your demographics though. I don’t really see Read more…

Back at it

Myspace. How many years ago did I last use that? Probably around 15 of them. That was also the last time I wrote a blog (or as we called them back then “zblogs” and even then most of the time it was stupid inside-jokes with my circle of friends). I never thought I’d write another one and really had no desire too. When setting up everything for my business though I noticed a statistic that Read more…
